Kuta Beach

Aquarius Star, Kuta - Monday - 11/12/78 - sunny

I woke up at 7am and we had our usual breakfast and then relaxed on the porch and read. We then went for a swim in the pool which was beautiful. Maria came around and bought me my dress and some shells as presents. We packed our stuff and we have bought so much stuff that it is too much to carry. Instead of going to Ubud we made 2 trips to Kuta and are staying at the Aquarius Star. This is because we are going to put a lot of the things we bought in 2 bags and send them home on a plane to Sydney. The place we are staying in has bungalows which are very plain. The shower and toilet are in a room next to the bedroom. We read most of the afternoon on the porch.

We drove to Padma Beach and had a swim. The sand was boiling hot. The water was OK but a bit dirty. Even on the beach Balinese come to sell iceblocks and cold drinks. We then went to some shops down the road. Brad bought 4 pairs of board shorts for 3000 rup and I bought a yellow layered dress for 2000 rup, a white wrap around dress for 2500 rup, yellow sarong for 1500 rup and blue shorts for 500 rup. We went back to our rooms and did some more reading. A lady came around asking us if we wanted a massage and I said tomorrow. We had dinner next door and I had lobster and Brad had crab . We then went walking until 8 pm. Everything is open and everyone is walking. It is cooler now, but is still hot.
