Stunning Desert scenery

Our next stop was Moab, just outside the Arches National Park in Utah. What a place, this trip just gets better and better. This park is almost indescribable. It is a desert surrounded by the most unimaginable rock formations which have been sculptured by the wind, rain and time. There are wonderful rock arches, enormous boulders balancing on thin slivers of rock and other wonderfully tortured shapes. It is breathtaking.

The second night we were there we drove off at dusk to see the sun setting behind this unique landscape, but we were disappointed because of the cloud cover. However, it was unbelievably hot and the temperature must have topped the century easily, but at the same time it was humid. Yuk!
