A Travellerspoint blog

Day 2 of drive to Colorado - Butte Montana

It had snowed overnight in Idaho and when I looked out the window I saw the staff scraping the snow off all the cars windows...how kind is that!!

We left at 8am and very soon were in Montana. We stopped in Wallace a historic old silver mining "Pepsi" town where I could not find coke for sale in any store or gas station

Montana was wide open spaces and very beautiful. There were big mountains, vast plains, no traffic, casinos RV/ Harley shops and signs saying it is illegal to fly fish alone as a single woman!! The state animal is the grizzly

We started seeing signs to Yellowstone National Park and stop for lunch in Billings

We stopped to sleep in Butte a copper mining town.
