Day 16 - 34 km

Hardest day today walking in freezing driving rain with strong winds buffeting you. It was absolutely gruelling and exhausting and the first 17km there was nothing to stop and get warm in. It was only 2 degrees and colder with the wind factor.

When we finally came to a village bar it was packed with people & never has food tasted so good!!

The rain was only light as I walked the next 17 km to the village of St Nicolas del Real. The private albergue was made of straw and mud with exposed beams and had a lovely wood fire downstairs.
