A Travellerspoint blog

Day 1 of walking - 25km

It is exactly 1 year after finishing this camino that I am writing this blog from some rough notes I took while walking last year.

We headed out in the dark and crisp air at 6am and I arrived in at1.30 pm . It ended up being misty as I got higher so my views over the Pyrenees were blocked again - just like last time. It was still a beautiful walking through the mist & fog. I sat on a rock to eat my lunch and chatted with some people.

I ended up taking the steep track downhill to the monastery - it was hard on your knees but took you through beautiful forests.

Checked into the only albergue in town for 10 E. A new feature they had was lovely volunteers that did you washing and drying for you for a very small fee! Pretty happy with my feet - no blisters!! I swapped between my shoes & sandals every couple of hours
