Capilano Suspension Bridge & City sights

Slept in until 9am ( missed the free brekky) and walked down Granville St to Canada Place on the waterfront where I caugh the free shutlle bus to Capilano Gorge suspension bridge. Have found Canadians to be very friendly and helpful.

Drove through the middle of Stanley Park and crossed over the Lion Gate Bridge. Glad I had picked up an umbrella as there was constant light drizzle ( apprently Vancover rains 7 months of the year like Seattle Oct -April!!)

It cost $32 to get into the park & the bridge is pretty cool & one of the worlds longest suspension bridges being 140 metres long and 70 metres high . There are cedar and douglas fir trees that are years old. Didn't see any squirrels or eagles today which was a shame. Eagles have a wing span of 7 feet & fly as high as 10,000 feet!!!

The nature walk was cool as was the tree top walk. You walk on suspended walkways that are all attached to trees by collars so that nothing is embedded into the tree. The clifftop walk was was amazing - not for those that hate heights...was incredible....looking down hundreds of feet below to the river.

Back in town I grabbed some dim sims from mobile van for $3.50. They have these great vans parked on the roadside selling food & are all diferent - asian, mexican, european

Wakd in to the old historic gaslight district to see the gas clock & then up to Chinatown ( not that great) My legs were killling me from the bike ride yesterrday & I ended up catching a bus up to Granville island to see the public markets and interesting shops. Lotsof of beautiful flowers, food stalls and interesting crafts. Saw a seal by the boat moorings and caught the bus back. feeling cold so parked myself with a hot chocolate in a cofffe shop for a few hours.

Had dinner in a diner and had turkey, mash and cranberry sauce - not nice either!!! I never have luck with food & always order the wrong thing!!! Packaged it up to give to one of the many homeless beggars. Forgot to mention that Davie St arae is totally gay with the rainbow flags on the street poles and in shops.
