Not the usual tourist activities

Met up with the local staff of the organisation we were visiting at our hotel and walked about 10 minutes to their office. It ended up being so close to where we were staying.

After hearing lots of inspiring information they took us out for lunch at a very cool Greek restaurant located in the upper town. It was perched on the edge of the top of the hillside overlooking all the white buildings below, and the beautiful big bay that looked over towards Mt Olympus.

To our left was a beautfull large Greek orthodox church & to out right old byzantine city walls and towers.

Our amazing hosts ordered plates of greek food to share.....it was so yummy especially the fried zucchinis, breads, greek salad and calamari.

After visiting their project they dropped us back at the hotel and planed to meet us there at 8pm to go out for dinner.

At night we walked over to an old pier where the warehouses had been converted into a restaurant called the Kitchen Bar. We sat on the water edge and had a great meal.

The guys then took us for a drive at 10.30pm around the seedier part of town . The number of brothels and street prostitutes, including transvestite prostitutes was shocking and so sad. It is very normal culturally here for the men to visit brothels. Many girls are trafficked in and through Greece from eastern Europe and Africa & even South America. An amazing day learning lots as we picked their brains.
