Travel Day from Cambodia to India

Left Phnom Penh this morning at 10am with Leigh and Mitchell and had several hours to pass in Bangkok before flying out at 6.30pm to Mumbai. It was only a 4 hour flight so passed quickly. As soon as we got off the plane evn though we were still inside the airport you could smell those distinctive smells unique to hot humid countries!!

We met Kerryn from Melbourne inside the airport and headed outside to look for a sign with our names on to take us to the very cheap hostel that was very close to the airport. It was only 5 minutes away and we immediately felt the craziness of Indian roads and drivers ( even at 11pm at night) !!!

Arrived into Mumbai at around 10pm and as we disembarked there was a feeling of heat and smell that was reminiscent of Fiji. Got our luggage and walked outside to look for the sign with our names. As our flight had got in early he hadn't arrived, so I called and 10 minutes later some one found us. We piled in a small van & arrived at a very sad run down looking hostel.

Inside was even worse with a very sad looking reception area & then into our room – a 6-bed dorm with just us in it. At only $5 a night each it was pretty dirty & unattractive BUT was very close to the airport & as we had to be back at the airport at 4am we tried not to touch anything & grabbed a few hours sleep!!!

The hostel was lets say - the worst I had ever stayed in and seeing as it was Leigh and Mitch's first they were not too impressed!!!
