Frankfurt stopover

Left hostel at 6.30 am in the dark to walk 20 mins to the bus stop for the shuttle bus to the airport. Lots of people coming home drunk from the night out adn had a scary incident. Glad to get to the bus stop and feel safe! . Cost 3 E for the bus and took 30 minutes.

First time flying with budget airline Ryan Air and had got a ticket for 210 E.There is no seat allocation so a mad rush happens when the gate opens! We ended up having some mechanical problems so sat on the Tarmac for an extra hour and a half. It was a 2 hour flight and ended up arriving at Hahn Airport at 12 .30 pm.

Flying in was over lovely rolling hills and the Rhine river . It was a 2 hour bus ride to Frankfurt and found the kiosk outside the main terminal to buy my ticket for 14 E. had to wait 45 mins until it left and it was only 11 degrees at midday so sat inside until it was time to board. It was a pleasant trip in past lovely countryside of rolling hills, wind turbines on the hills, woods and little villages of white houses with black tiled rooves and a white church with a high spire.

We stopped in at the main Frankfurt airport that I depart from tomorrow and then into the city to the main train station the Haultbahnhof. I easily found my hostel in the street straight opposite this massive station. In a 6 bed girls dorm for 22 E which includes breakfast. Cool hostel on the pedestrian. All on the 3 rd floor of an old building that has balconies that overlook the mall and station.Have an interesting roommate who appears to believing there. She has a Minnie mouse duvet cover, several stuffed animals on the bed, a Minnie mouse large floor mat in front of her bed and clothes hanging off the bed.....not your usual backpacker style !!!!

Went out for a walk in the street - which is full of cafes with lots of middle eastern and African men around. Grabbed some Chinese as I was starving as only snacked all day on my biscuits and chocolate. Had meal and drink for 7.70 e ......... So cheap !

Went over to the station to find out about the train to the airport tomorrow. Massive bustling hugely busy station that reminded me of Rome with so many platforms and people. Will have time for a quick couple of hours in the historic area tomorrow as it is only a 15 minute walk. Will hang out here tonight.
