Day 21 Sarria to Palas del Rey 48 km

Writing this a couple of days later so don't know how much I will remember as my last 2 massive days were a bit of a blur as I became psycho walking machine !!!!

Dropped my bag off at 6am at the local cafe that was organizing bag transport and paid 12 E. I waited around till there was some there's leaving and followed them out. So glad I did as it was one of the worst mornings for finding signs when we were out of the town. At one point there was a group of 10 of us searching for arrows at an intersection in the track and just made call which fortunately was the right one.

The first section o f22.4 km to Portomarin was a lovely walk passing through many small villages that were close together, many without any cafes. It was also uphill all the way until we dropped down to the lovely riverside town of Portomarin. It has the highest widest bridge over the river and the up a steep staircase to the town centre.

I got there by 11 am, grabbed a drink and snack and head out for my afternoon section of 24.8 km. the first section I was mostly alone but found there was a lot of people walking the last few Km's to Palas de Rei so it was nice to have company later in the day.

Picked up my bag from a private hostel I had chosen to have it delivered to but didn't like the location to stay and there didn't seem to be many people there and wanted to har others leaving early tomorrow for my next big day tomorrow. Tried to get into the local Xunta ( Galician municipal hostel ) but it was already completo. Close by was another private hostel and I got the last bed there !! It was 10 E and backed on to a big square where it was nice to sit and relax. Grabbed some ham and cheese from a super mercado to make a sandwich for dinner and got my brekkie supplies.

My legs were pretty shot after today and I had blisters for the first time in over 10 days. Got some more compeed for my feet tomorrow and found the big ones that covers your whole heel ( sides and bottom). So close to finishing and not sure of my final plan tomorrow...feeling very exhausted and pressured to get to Santiago!!!
