Day 10 Redecilla to Villafranca 25 km

Have I said how much I love my poles... They are just the best and make getting up and down hills so much easier. My feet are going well now...no new pain or blisters and I actually got a good speed up today. Left at 6am and arrived at11.30 am. It's always seems easier when you pass through lots of little villages without too many massive stretches. Means you can sit down for awhile, have a drink from a fountain and rest your feet for a moment.

Passed through Castildelgado, Vitoria de la Rioja and Villa Major del Rio in the dark. Had a few spots of rain and then it cleared and another stunning sunrise with a big red sky. Had breakfast in Belorado with the 4 boys and Singaporeans.

Walked by myself most of today. The church in Belorado had the most massive storks nests at the top of the bell tower and rooms with windows built in the big rocks behind. Thiis village has been around since Roman times

The next 12 km through the villages of Tosantos, Villambistia and Epinisa del Camino was tougher as the sun was out. There was a few shady reprieves from the sun but otherwise a continual gentle uphill walk past wheat and sunflower fields. Someone had left a few notes on the camino pinned to a sign and a bridge for people to read about hope and love.

No one was at the albergue when we arrived so we grabbed a bed and then the hospitaller arrived at midday and collected 5 E from us. Had a shower, washed my clothes and then had a great nap.

Just explored the town which is pretty small and has 2 bars and a nice hotel on the hill where I am now using the wifi. Had a great pilgrim meal with the Singaporeans and Donna from NZ
