Lazy beach day at Lapad

We woke up feeling very tired and wrecked from our ailments of yesterday!!!! Poor Mum is still so itchy and scratched much of the night and the swelling and redness is worse than yesterday.

Breakfast is supplied and was just yummy - yogurts, fresh breads, meat, cheese, hard boiled eggs, juice, fruit and pancakes, Renata is the hostess with the mostest!!!

We pottered around until 11am, did our washing etc and then head out to wander in this lovely local suburb of Lapad. By the end of the day we were both ready to live here and decided it has to be the most liveable place in the world. You can walk to beaches, harbour, restaurants, supermarket, bakery....pretty well everything you need.

First we wandered down a set of steps down the hill to the water near our house and could walk around the whole peninsular by the water.

Lovely little jetties with small boats moored in the crystal clear water, locals sat on benches chatting and it was so quiet and peaceful with no traffic noise. Stopped at Copcabana Beach for a cold drink and then on to Cava Beach which I loved with it's litle coves and inlets. It had lounges you could plonk yourself on to be comfortable up off the rocks. Found the perfect positioned ones in some shade near the water and was going back to get Mum and someone else grabbed them! So, we decided to keep walking and find another place. I was going to walk further around this beach but as I got closer I noticed this very large brown man who was very naked. I saw FKK on a rock and found out later that meant nudist beach.

All along the headland there are little stone steps disappearing down towards the water that come out on rock platforms where there are ladders fixed to the rocks to climb down to swim. Everywhere there are people perched on little rocky ledges and swimming way out in the bay.

We came upon a sign saying Cave Bar and walked down some steps where there was lounges and tables and chairs under umbrellas so we grabbed one and went inside into this cool cave and ordered some bruschetta for lunch. There were several floors within the cave that had seating on them...very cool!

Back to our lounges where we lay for a few hours listening to the wonderful sound of the water lapping a few feet below us and reading our books. I climbed down the ladder into the azure blue water to have aswim - cold at first but so wonderfully refreshing !!! Wonderful afternoon and just what we needed - a rest day!!!.

After that we walked up to the next headland and ate at a restaurant on the promenade where I tried meat dumplings which I didn't really like that much - sort of like sausage. Mum's allergy had become worse again on her arm and was driving her mad, so we caught a taxi back to the hospital and saw the same Dr who ordered more injections....praying it gets better this time!
