A Travellerspoint blog

Washington DC

Off for our USA Adventure doing our first SHE trip where we get to bring awareness to the enormous problem of human trafficking not just in Cambodia but worldwide & raise money for the home by selling our merchandise. So we are loaded up! Our personal clothes fit in our small cabin sized bags and then we have 2 massive suitcases each of merchandise that weigh 23 kg each. It was raining when Brad dropped us a the airport & we had to struggle with 4 bags each to check in at the domestic terminal where we flew to Sydney.

Our business upgrades by points on our United flight went smoothly which I am very excited about. We were seated up in the bubble of the plane upstairs & it was so cool!! The seat actually goes totally flat! I only managed to sleep a couple of hours but at least it was comfortable. Food was amazing & had the best steak! Arrived into San Fran & checked in for our 5 1/2 flight to Washington DC.

It was 9.30pm when we arrived & we were picked up by Bethany & Gabby Pisani from Capital City Church who were so lovely to pick us up. They had a small car so it was a squeeze to fit in our massive amount of luggage. Note to self – let people know in advance how much stuff we are travelling with!

It took about 40 mins to get to our hotel on DuPont Circle – the Carlyle Suites.

It is a great room with the most comfortable bed s & doonas & pillows.

We crashed & had a good sleep!
