Berhamsted with the relies!

Caught a train to Berkhamsted where we stayed with Aunty Hilda for a few days. Each day we did lots of lovely walking around the village & especially loved buying a loaf of bread to feed the ducks & swans with. They would swim along the canal behind where Michael walked throwing them the bread. We passed locks on the Grand Union Canal & brightly painted canal boats. Lunch was in a lovely old pub built in 1535 called the The Three Horseshoes where I had a ploughman's lunch followed by spotted Dick Pudding

Castle ruins are always a must & great for imagining how it was back then

Aunty Hilda was so hospitable & the toast we had for breakfast tasted much better than at home &I had way too much with lashings of butter
