Church & shopping in Jozi

Had a relaxing weekend in the beautiful Michelangelo Hotel. Tried to book a tour to a cultural village & lion patting zoo but they didn't have it happening, so it enforced a restful time , which was a nice thing to do.

Saturday we did some shopping in Sandton, slept & read and had fish & chips from a take away & it was great fish.

Sunday morning we were picked up by Derek from the church & were taken to Makro Wholesalers ( reminded me of Sams club in the USA) to buy some cuddly African blankets. They were $30 each & I bought 6 to give each of the boys one . Leigh & I then went to rooftop flea market at Rosewood shopping centre. It was full of african arts & crafts & had some great things for sale ( bought a wood dish). There were african buskers singing & dancing which meant a great atmosphere.

We met Mark & Brad for lunch at Pigalle & had the most amazing seafood platters with prawns, langoustines ( a shellfish which I had never heard of) & lobster, followed by a creme brulee. I have put on sooo much weight from all the yummy food here. We went to Rivers church 5pm service to hear Mark preach. Fantastic church of 5,000 & they have the most impressive facilities & happening staff. Mark stayed to preach at the PM service & we came back to chill. Game reserve tomorrow!!!
