Lazy Day on Monkey Island

Packed up & out of our room by 8am & left our luggage at reception. Caught 8am bus to Monkey Beach Island Trip for $14 AUS each & included lunch. Drove north out of town following the coastline & pretty scenery till we reached the boat dock. Most of the people on the boat trip are vietnamese. We stopped at 3 islands - the first one to feed ostriches & deer & the second one for 3 hours.

We could have gone on a walk to an inland waterfall but chose to park ourselves on some beach chairs & read & relax.

Had buffet lunch there & met a policeman & his girlfriend & then on to Monkey Island where there was a LOT of monkeys running around you could feed. Lots of babies were gripping onto their Mums & hanging upside down... very cute! Again we could have followed the crowd but just chilled out! Very unlike me to do that - very into my book & needing some catch up rest!!.

We got back to the hotel & had a bit of a wash & change at these outside showers & grabbed some dinner before leaving on the 7.30pm bus to Hoi An. It was $13 US for an 11 hour bus trip. This time we thought we would try some different seats & ending up getting the 5 bunks on the lower level at the back. They were great & we could fully stretch out - meant lots more sleep!!!
