Travel day - Local bus, Bus, Train & Plane!

Going home to see my family - yay!!! Left the hostel at 7am for the 9am bus as didn't know how long it would take me to find & catch a local bus to the Bus Station. It was still only half light outside at this time which I found surprising. Wandered the streets that were starting to come to life. Just realised that as well as motorbikes not being hugely popular here like in other parts of Asia that people don't toot on their horn all the time!

Found the bus stop easily & a bus showed up a few minutes later. Was a pretty old dodgy bus & only cost 1 RM - 30c. We were at the Main Bus Station which is huge & modern within minutes & it was only 7.30am Discovered there was an earlier bus was about to leave so I changed my ticket & got the last seat & jumped on.

Took a bit longer on the way back - 4 1/2 hours - the roads & immigration checks seemed more crowded. Malaysia is very modern, most people speak English & it has great freeways. The air conditioning above my head was freezing & could not be turned off so it was lucky I had a supply of clothes handy. I put on a long sleeved top over my singlet, wrapped a sarong around myself, put on a jumper & cuddled my pillow!!!

Back in Singapore it was only a few blocks walk from the Queen St Bus Station to Bugis MRT Train system & 10 stops later I was at Changi Airport. Picked up my luggage from Left Luggage & checked in. Sat & caught up on my blog & work for the next 8 hours at the Singapore Airlines lounge. Pleasant & fast way to pass time with nice free food & drinks!
